Baitong spent most of her life as a logging elephant in Ranong province Over the years, she was sold multiple times passing from one owner to another used for both tourism and logging She endured years of relentless work never experiencing a true place of rest
After the COVID-19 pandemic, her most recent owner recognized that she was no longer strong enough to continue working Wanting to give her a better future, they brought her to Bua Thong Elephant Sanctuary where she could finally retire and receive the care she needed
Today, Baitong enjoys a peaceful and comfortable life free from the burdens of her past She is now part of a loving herd where she can roam freely and enjoy the natural surroundings
